09-11-20 - Rydell 10th despite problem
Rickard Rydell will start Sunday’s first race from 10th on the grid despite being hit by a technical problem in Q1.
”It’s a bit disappionting as it looked good”, said Rickard Rydell.
It was two action packed qualifying sessions in Macau on Friday which saw Rob Huff and Chevrolet take the final pole position of the year. Rickard Rydell will line up 10th in Sunday’s first race despite missing Q2 after a technical problem in Q1.
”The problem is related to the fuel system, but I don’t know in detail what happend. I’m still 10th but it could have been much better. Actually, it’s a bit disappointing as it looked good. In Q1 I gave Yvan Muller tow for his best lap and on the next Jordi Gené Helped me on the long straights. Then, in sector two, my car suddenly stopped and the day was over”, said Rickard Rydell.
Augusto Farfus was best of the title contenders with third place as Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini crashed. The Frenchman’s SEAT first hit the wall before being hit by the Italian’s car …
