Since 1999 the Rydell Special Award is presented to a young promising Swedish racing driver by Rickard Rydell and motoring magazine Bilsport. The 2009 winner will be announced at the Bilsportgala in Örebro on January 23 and this year’s prize includes a Formula 3 test at Silverstone with Performance Racing!
The 2009 winner of Rydell Special Award will be announced at the Bilsportgala on January 23 in Örebro. The prize, presented by Rickard Rydell in cooperation with his long time sponsor Bilsport, includes not only 50.000 Swedish kronor (approx. 5.000 Euros) but also a Formula 3 test with Performance Racing at Silverstone, worth 100.000 Swedish kronor. The test, presented to the winner by Performance Racing, is an opportunity for the winner to gain valuable experience in a single seater race car, in this case a Dallara-Volkswagen.
”It will be the 11th time that Bilsport and I present the Rydell Special Award to a young, promising Swedish racing driver and to do that together with Performance Racing feels great. Our ambition with the prize is to help a driver on the way to a drive in an international single seater series and I hope we can do that”, said Rickard Rydell.
