11-08-25 - Strong field for STCC at Jyllandsringen

This weekend’s STCC races at Jyllandsringen will be a treat for all touringcar fans when champions from WTCC, ETCC, STCC and DTC races at the Danish circuit. Rickard Rydell, currently second in the STCC, aims to score more points and hopefully reduce the gap to the series leader.

For the second time in 2011 the STCC visits Jyllandsringen in Denmark this weekend and the races will be a real treat for all touringcar fans. The STCC regulars will be joined by Hartmann Racing and its two drivers Fabrizio Giovanardi and Casper Elgaard in a pair of Honda Accords. Chevrolet Driver Rickard Rydell is looking forward to race in a field that also includes Gabriele Tarquini, Jason Watt, Fredrik Ekblom and Richard Göransson – just to mention a few drivers.
”This is perhaps the best ever STCC field and I am really fired up going to Denmark!” said Rickard Rydell.
Rydell was fourth and fifth at Jyllandsringen in April and aims to repeat two points finishes this time. He also hopes to gain some pionts on series leader Fredrik Ekblom who is five points ahead in the standings.
”Qualifying has been very important this season and it will be close in the last races as well. Just to get through Q1 will be an effort at Jyllandsringen. My aim is to score as many points as possible in both races and that means hard work on Saturday as well as Sunday.”
